Spiritual Questions
Spirituality is such a personal thing that I can only talk about it from my own point of view, and you will only be able to see it from your point of view………
Although I personally first heard of EFT about 10 years ago, as a Christian, I thought that what I heard and saw might go against my faith, and , unfortunately at that time I thought nothing more about it.
Please don’t make the same mistake
As a qualified nutritionist and a great believer that the good Lord provided everything on this earth that we need to be in perfect health, I had always concentrated on the things we put into our body (Food and Drink) being the most vital to our health and well-being.
However in recent years it had become obvious to me that our good health involves not only healthy input to our stomach – but also to our mind, and more to the point, that old bad habits and patterns and stresses that our mind can’t get free from cause us long term damage, also these things can affect the way we feel about what we eat and feel about ourselves.
It was actually my suffering from panic attacks and debilitating anxiety on a regular basis coinciding with a reminder of EFT that made me look back into it. I had tried hypnotherapy which helped a little, I did not want to turn to drugs, an email came in mentioning EFT which I looked into again, but I wanted to make sure it would fit I with my faith, so I turned to Google……
I can’t now find the exact article I saw back then but it was similar to this one
I since found this by a Christian minister who seems to practice this as part of his ministry with some interesting Christian additions to the process which makes a lot of sense

When I really thought about it I considered all the things that most Christians do without batting an eyelid towards their faith, would a Christian pop a paracetamol for a headache? Undergo surgery to get better, most would without thinking about it
So would a Christian take counselling? – Most ministers are full time counsellors to their flock! Would a Christian have any issues with Exposure therapy? – Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Most would not at all…..
Maybe the most contentious point is the use of acupressure points.
The most well known use of acupressure points these days is acupuncture. This is now well known by virtually everybody in the world and accepted as effective by the NHS to the point that many doctors’ surgeries are happy to prescribe it. It is certainly not some strange spiritual ‘woo woo‘.
Would Christians accept acupuncture? – I asked around and all the ones I know would not consider it against their faith to do so – (whether they wanted to have needles stuck in them was a different issue!!)
So –
Christians accept Exposure therapy
Christians accept Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Christians accept acupuncture
Surely Christians – and of course other faiths (I would think – although I cannot speak for them specifically) would have to accept a therapy which combines these 3 therapies – however weird it looks!!!
